Music Clearances for TOOM Baumarkt

Spark was asked by TOOM’s lead agency Scholz & Friends Berlin to investigate the possibility of using the German classic 80s hit song ‘1001 Nacht’, originally recorded by the Klaus Lage Band, for a new advertising campaign.

The idea was to re-record the song and replace a key part of the lyrics with different DIY noises.

After several round of negotiations a deal was found with the music publisher and the new version recorded by Supreme Music Berlin.

Spark carried out the pre-checks on the song copyright, negotiations of the fee and drafted the license agreement on behalf of TOOM.
